Advancing Digital Inclusion for Arab Society in Israel
As part of its commitment to bridging Israel’s digital divide, the Israel Internet Association (ISOC-IL) works to promote equitable and inclusive internet access within the Arab population in Israel. Arabs make up about 20% of the country’s population, and although the digital divide has narrowed in recent years — with nearly universal internet connectivity — studies indicate that substantial gaps and differences remain in how the internet is used and in access to online information compared to the general population. Notably, there are still significant geographical gaps, particularly in the Negev, which is home to 15% of Israel’s Arab population, where over a third of residents still rely primarily on mobile networks rather than fixed fiber connections.
We promote equal access to essential information, economic opportunity, and public and government services across all sectors of society–advancing internet use and accessibility to ensure that everyone, regardless of geography, socio-economic status, cultural background, or physical ability, can benefit from the opportunities the internet provides.
