Community Activities for Promoting Digital Literacy and Online Safety

Advancing Digital Inclusion for Arab Society in Israel

We actively work to strengthen Arab digital literacy and online safety awareness, conducting educational workshops and conferences in Arab communities around the country for educators, children, parents, and senior citizens. Our Internet Safety Hotline partners with Arab crisis support and civil society organizations to design and implement targeted outreach for the Arab community. Recent examples are ISOC-IL’s digital safety workshops for seniors in Arab communities during Safer Internet Month, 2025, and ISOC-IL’s disinformation resilience training for student volunteers in February 2026.

ISOC-IL makes important online safety information available in the Arabic language, like ‘Protect Yourself from Graphic Content Online in the Current Emergency’ (published in October 2023) and ‘Don’t Fall into the Net’ (2025). As part of these efforts, ISOC-IL collaborated with Dr. Aamer Jaraisy, a psychotherapist and parent counselor, to create a user guide and explanatory video tailored specifically for the Arab community. The materials equip parents with tools to safeguard their children from exposure to disturbing online content and mitigate the adverse effects of such content. Click here to view the complete video.
