ISOC-IL had the honor and challenge of representing the voice of Israeli civil society at the recent EuroMed Civil Society Conference “Reclaiming Our Shared Humanity: Countering Polarisation, Dehumanisation, and Radicalisation driven by the Middle East Conflict” in Barcelona. The conference brought together over 200 participants from over 30 countries, and included civil society organizations, policymakers and thought leaders from across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Dr. Asaf Wiener, Vice President of Research and Public Policy at ISOC-IL, participated as a panelist in the session titled “Youth and Narratives of Hate Through Social Media: How to Address the Polarising Impact of Disinformation?” During the discussion, he shared ISOC-IL’s research and insights on the spread of disinformation in Israel. He also highlighted ISOC-IL’s emergency initiatives within Israeli civil society in response to the ongoing war, focusing particularly on safety guidelines and efforts to make emergency information more accessible to Israel’s Arab population.
