ISOC-IL Highlights Emerging Election Challenges at CFI Forum

The Israel Internet Association (ISOC-IL) participated in the CFI Forum for Media Professionals and Civil Society Organizations, held in Tel Aviv on October 13, 2026, ahead of Israel’s 2026 elections. The forum was organized by CFI, the French Media Development Agency, which supports independent media and civil society in order to strengthen access to reliable information.

ISOC-IL’s Vice President of Community Affairs, Edan Ring, delivered the opening presentation, New Challenges in Election Campaigns in Israel and Around the World, addressing emerging threats to online elections and the challenges facing media professionals and civil society.

The forum brought together approximately 60 representatives of civil society organizations, independent media outlets, media organizations, and the European Union Delegation to Israel. The program also featured Prof. Anat Ben-David of the Open University, who discussed synthetic propaganda and disruptions on election day, and David Halbfinger, Jerusalem Bureau Chief of The New York Times, who shared international perspectives on Israel’s elections.

The event provided a platform for exchanging knowledge and perspectives on emerging election-related threats and the integrity of the online information environment.
