ISOC-IL at Disinfo2025: Knowledge Sharing on Countering Disinformation

The #Disinfo2025 conference brought together leading activists, researchers, and stakeholders from across Europe to address urgent challenges in disinformation and information integrity. Held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 15–16 October 2025, the event proved to be a highly engaging platform for exchanging ideas, strengthening collaborations, and sharing impactful research. Edan Ring, VP of Community Affairs at ISOC-IL and Nitsan Yasur, ISOC-IL’s Disinformation and Digital Investigations Lead, attended on behalf of the Disinformation Resilience Israel project team, making the most of networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities with counterparts from across the globe.

Over two packed days, participants attended a diverse lineup of panel discussions, interviews, keynotes, and workshops led by top experts, covering topics spanning disinformation proliferation, AI-driven messaging, policy accountability, and emerging tactics targeting public services and elections. The programme featured parallel tracks—including “Disinfo Atlas” and “From Community to Collective Action”—allowing for deep-dives on current disinformation trends, regulatory responses (with sessions on the Digital Services Act and European Commission), and information resilience.

At the conference, our team distributed our recently published research Disinformation and Fact-Checking Efforts during the Israel-Iran War, and connected with a broad spectrum of specialists, fact-checkers, and organizations. Follow-up meetings were arranged, paving the way for the research to be presented at an upcoming European webinar and other significant platforms.

The conference affirmed the importance of transnational cooperation against disinformation, with actionable strategies shared on topics from healthcare manipulation to climate communication. Read Edan Ring’s LinkedIn post about his experience.
