Changes in Registration Rules

Summary of Amendments

Version 1.9- February 2022

Rules were amended to accommodate changes in the process of new domain names registration.
Changes were made in the articles:
4.6, 6.2, 7.1, 7.2, 8.2, 8.3, 17.3 b, 21.1, 21.2, 23.2, added article I. Privacy.

Version 1.8- May 2020

Rules were amended to accommodate the suspension of new Hebrew Domain Names registration.

Version 1.7- January 2020

Rules were amended to accommodate the extension of the registration period for up to five years (1-5)

Version 1.6 – December 2017

Changes made in the articles:

4.3 a – According to regulations by the Israeli Ministry of Communications, updates about the types of licenses required for registering  .net.il  domains.

4.5, 4.6- A reference was added to the renewal of domain names under the SLD as specified in Section 4.3.

Version 1.5 – July 2016

Rules were amended to accommodate ISOC-IL termination of direct registration and management of domain names.

Version 1.4 – August 2010

Rules were amended to accommodate registration of Hebrew Domain Names.

Version 1.3 – December 2006

Rules were amended to accommodate transition to the registry-registrar system.

Version 1.2 – June 2006

For clarity, and as preparation for the transition to the registry-registrar system, the existing “Transfer” operation was renamed “Re-Assign”.

Changes were made in Articles 6, 9.2 and 19.3.

Version 1.1 – September 2000

  1. Article 4.1: Article was amended to support payments by credit card.
  2. Article 5.1(b): Article was corrected to indicate renewal dates properly, as being two complete calendar years from time of allocation.

Version 1.0 – December 1998

Major Rewrite: Domain Name Allocation Rules re-written as a result of 18 months of legal work and consultation with the public.
