In February 2013, the Knesset adopted regulations requiring website owners to offer accessible services. The directive was vague and failed to balance web site owners’ costs with the requirements of people with disabilities. In September 2017, following a lengthy process led by Israel Internet Association for over four years, the Knesset approved significantly revised accessibility regulations for websites and online services and adopted most of ISOC-IL’s recommendations.
